We spent four days at The National Hotel in Jamestown during 2005 Thanksgiving. The hotel was established in 1857, during the Gold Rush era, and boasts of a resident ghost by the name of Flo. I left this poem in the guest book that was in our room.

FLO

Sorry, Flo, We have to go,
Didn?t see you -
Tried to though.
You?re very close,
Of this I know.
We'll come again -
Perhaps you'll show.

Alas, alack, I spoke too soon,
For Flo was always in this room!
