Finally back in Civy Street I was able to use some of the skills I had
used as an instructor by starting up a Driving School. One of the
innovations that I used was the installation of an automobile version of
the Link Trainer. In this version the student appeared to drive around a
course linked to the steering, gear box and accelerator of the training
vehicle and which he saw projected onto a screen in front. A few years
later I ended up selling the school and got a job as an M.O.T. examiner
and, ten years later, retired to a comfortable life in Devon.
A reminiscence by Douglas Laurie-Lean of my LAST FLIGHT .
